There are many types of irrigation valves, which can regulate the direction of water flow and control switches, and can improve pipeline functions to ensure the safe and stable operation of the entire farmland irrigation system. At the same time, in order to facilitate the observation of various instruments and meters attached to it, the agricultural irrigation valve can help managers to control the entire irrigation system in more detail and accurately. It is a safety element in water-saving irrigation equipment. Which valves are commonly used in irrigation systems? Covna Valve introduces you.

1. Pressure reducing valve

The pressure reducing valve is the hydraulic control pressure reducing one. Its main function is to monitor the highest value of the water pressure in the pipeline. Once the pipeline water pressure exceeds or approaches the maximum design tolerance, the pressure reducing valve will automatically weaken the pipeline water pressure until it reaches the normal value of piping design. The pressure reducing valve is mostly installed in a position where the water pressure is likely to rise sharply, such as steep terrain and changing pipeline. The common structure of agricultural pressure reducing valve is diaphragm type and spring type.

2. Air valve

Air valve, also known as intake valve or exhaust valve, is mainly used to regulate the amount of air in the pipeline. Air will inevitably enter in the management of agricultural irrigation system. Proper air is conducive to the operation of agricultural irrigation system, but too much or too little, both of it would cause the piping system to be ruptured, so foreign irrigation pipe networks generally install air valves in irrigation. The world is now vigorously popularized, which is conducive to the normal operation of agricultural irrigation systems. Air valves generally have two structures, single or double chambers. The selection is based on the volume of the irrigation system. Smaller scales select single chambers, and the larger choose double ones.

3. Relief valve

As an irrigation valve, the relief valve actually functions like a pressure reducing valve. The relief valve mainly protects against water hammer in the pipeline and it is generally installed at the beginning of the pipeline to control the water pressure of the pipeline to prevent water hammer. Commonly used relief valve structures are spring type, lever type and open type. How to choose them? It depends on the pipeline water pressure range and size.

4. Ball valve

The ball valve is a type of valve used solely to open and close the pipeline in the irrigation system. Ball valves are characterized by simple, reliable structure, small size, light weight, and low cost.

5. Gate valve

The gate valve is also a common switch valve in agricultural irrigation, but the gate valve has the characteristics of two-way switch and control, low resistance to water and a small switching force which is relatively gentle.
